TEDx UKASFP?

We have an opportunity to run an event which could help the association make connections across undiscovered country. The TED community have now officially opened their doors to TEDx, which are smaller events aimed to spread ideas through the ever expanding TED community.

Who would be up for being involved in hosting a small event, I would certainly help connecting to the larger TED community?

Lovely, I wonder if this is a great opportunity to support our members "in the wings" (I'm trying to avoid the term lurkers!) to put together an event, possibly combining interest group members too.

Great idea, would be pleased to be part of it. Are we envisaging a series of short talks - perhaps with workshop and discussion elements, with titles/themes connecting somehow to SF? Cheers, Paul Z

I am a member of this and have met some very interesting people from around the world. What would be needed to host a small event Carl - I am happy to be involved?

I guess at the very minimal, a small venue, a crowd, a great idea or 2 to share and a way of capturing that... oh and of course good food...

I hope there will be enough interest and a volunteer or 2 to organise this, at the moment this is just a great idea, it just requires a little organising and a little crafty borrowing of venue and resources.

I guess that if a group of people said they could provide a venue and present an idea or two, we could then develop this as a TEDx event.

I've already noticed over the years that regional interest groups more or less do this regularly. It's an opportunity to expand our horizons, an opportunity I wish I had time to get really involved in, however can only help join the dots!
