UK Association for Solution Focused Practice

Bringing people together to share solution focused ideas

Carole Waskett

What are we going to do with this wonderful toy?

Hello Everyone, isn't this great? I see things haven't really got started yet. What ideas to people have for using the site? Would it be interesting to get some groups going? EG geographical localities, ways of using SF - maybe a group for using it in 1:1 therapy, one for groups, for teaching, for supervision . . . .what else? The possibilities seem endless.
Best wishes to all,
Carole

Hi Carole, yes there's an exciting future for the site with groups, live chats and the facility to share resources. I guess at first we may just sit back a little or experiment a little before getting stuck in.

I'm just pondering a few ideas for online groups and seeing as though I'm getting involved and excited about SF in the creative industries I may set up a group around that and see who pops along.

We could also 'book' a slot in the chat room to hold a live conversation!

let's see where it takes us!

As ever with these things I agree quickly that the possibilities are endless (as indeed I suppose they are) and then never know where to start. I love playing with technology, but am not actually any good at developing it.

Having said that, I did think a couple of years ago about doing solution focused therapy on Second Life. The avatars would be completely made up, but the human relationships stay real. I know it was all taking off although when I made a character up, I couldn't find my way round anywhere (just miles of wasteland with billboard hoardings advertising all sorts of things). I have been sitting under a waterfall for about 18 months now and haven't gone back to it. Anyway, I still think the idea would be nice. What appetite is there I wonder for UKASFP in Second Life? Possibilities for nearly 300 SF people delivering services in one (virtual) place!

Hmmm, best have a lie down now...too much thinking!
