I guess that if a group of people said they could provide a venue and present an idea or two, we could then develop this as a TEDx event. I've already noticed over the years that regional interest groups more or less do this regularly. It's an oppo…

Projects and preferred futures

There has been a number of potential projects developing within the association that look exciting and could prove to be very useful. I thought the first best move would be to make a list of them just to visualise the ideas, and then we can get an idea of where we are with these.

We have the wikipedia SFA page project which a number of people have already joined the group on this site, the next move I guess would be to arrange a date so that we can organise the day. This will involve working vi… Continue

Chain reaction, working collaboratively

I am currently interested in a project called Chainreaction and feel very excited about the positive, collaborative and respectful focus of the project.

This project aims to focus on mass collaboration with business leaders, activists, policy makers etc with the purpose of generating ideas for social change on a big scale. There's an opportunity for me to be involved (as a representative of the UKASFP) in the next conference in November.

I would lik… Continue

Carl's world pt3- wiki's

Ok here's a few words about wiki's.

As many know there is the main wikipedia web site. This has millions of articles on just as many topics. This wiki is run as a community, where for every topic there is an open community of people able to edit the information, with the hope of making the information correct and well referenced.

A wiki is typically based on:

collaboration
community
crowds (crowdsourcing)
discussion
network effects

I have recently been invited to join a steering group and take part in an online experiment in collaboration. The theme will cover:

What tools and principles do we need to help change to unfold? Social and technological development as means for better organizations, and a better world.

This online workshop will be a great learning opportunity in organisation development and change management… Continue

Hi Carl, and thank you for hosting it. I really enjoyed meeting people with such diverse interests (and yet so similar :)

On another issue I am doing some work on developing our local Parish Plan and one of the suggestions is to have a Madeley Festival probably in October half-term. Is this something that I could request help with on Blurbonline? We have yet to confirm that this is what we will do but want to get some ideas as the 'planners' on the group think that it will take at least 12 months to organise.

Thanks again for last night. Louise xx

Hi Carl
I am trying to get a list of 'official' recognitions of Solution Focus.

I'll jhave a look.
thanks
Evan.

Hi Carl

Great music - is it your own? Didn't realise that electronic music was represented in the sf community (my own assumptions coming out there...). Do you play it at the conference jams? Maybe there should be a music discussion in the cafe some time!

Best wishes

Jon

Hi Carl - like the music.....I've thought about getting Ableton live....is that what you use? I have a Logic-based studio, and a band that plays live blues....I'm not sure I've got time to do anything else, even thought I love electronic music.....Terry Riley was an early, and continuing, passion.

cheers,

Martin F.
