20 Years of BRIEF 1989 - 2009
This is an important year for us. Harvey, Chris and I started working together as BRIEF (well Brief Therapy Practice and then BRIEF) exactly 20 years ago. It has been an extraodinary partnership, an amazing collaboration, 20 years of thinking about, talking about, teaching and supervising the solution focused approach as well as seeing thousands of clients. And seeing clients across the spectrum of presentation in every sense. What a huge privilege this has been.
And then Guy and Yasmin joining us and transforming the team by bringing their quite unique contributions - their energy, drive, thoughtfulness and absolute commitment to taking the approach seriously. BRIEF has gained massively from their arrivals.
We have been enormously fortunate and it has been great fun..
And almost every day I remember to be grateful to Steve de Shazer and to Insoo Kim Berg, whose part in developing these ideas, and being so generous in giving the ideas away to us all, changed my life, the lives of hundreds of thousands of clients and so many professionals from around the world.

Hi Evan, It seems like a good way of logging some of the training and activities that are going on, sharing ideas and keeping a 'bank' of information. The SolWorld ning site works the same way and is an opportunity to hear from others about what they are doing.

Hi Evan, hope you had a nice break? Just curious about how much progress have you made on this project? Anything I can do to help?

That's a very good idea, we have collated data in patches over the last year or 2, Prof Steve Palmer had some details at the last conference as well.

I do know that the Condition Management Programme in Staffordshire has SFA training as standard now and that the DWP work psychologists seem to favour SFA in their work in Staffordshire but not sure if this is a DWP requirement.

I'm currently getting excited over the possibility of the local creative industries using SFA in their public partnership roles more on this after a bit more work from myself. Oh and possible interest from Police custody training facilities if I keep up the work with them.

Carl
