Skype have been around the block a few times and have a very good reputation for simplicity and being technically stable in what they do.
Skype provide a telephone service through the internet with free skype to skype calls and cheap skype to other phones.
Many businesses use skype because of a number of reasons:
It's cheap to use
it allows people to send instant messages (like instant text) while talking
it allows secure conference calls
you can share web links easily
The beauty of skype is that all you need at basic level is a speaker and a microphone, either by buying something from pc world or similar or from skype themselves. You can also use video calls on skype once you have a webcam set up.
The skype software is free and really really easy to install. The software looks for your optional webcam, speaker and microphone (or usb handset) and allows you to test it.
Once you have set up skype and tested then you can search for folk and add them to your directory.
Many organisations will be using skype more in the future as it is so stable and friendly.
